WheyUP to Be Sold At Max Muscle Stores Nationwide

Fitness beverage company signs marketing deal with sports nutrition retail chain

Gilbert, Ariz. – August 18, 2008 – WheyUP, the Original Protein Drink with Energy, continued its aggressive distribution campaign by signing a deal with Max Muscle, which features 150 retail stores across the United States. As part of this agreement, WheyUP will be sold at select Max Muscle stores nationwide.

Max Muscle is the fastest growing franchise system in the sports nutrition industry. Joe Wells founded the company in Anaheim, Calif, in 1991. Max Muscle offers a proprietary brand of supplements and apparel, as well as a wide selection of major national brands. Each store has a certified sports nutrition specialist on staff.

“Part of our distribution strategy is to increase the number of retail locations where WheyUP is sold, so we’re pleased to be partnering with Max Muscle,” said WheyUP’s inventor and co-founder Erik Rothchild. “Max Muscle has a great reputation for incredible customer service and a knowledgeable staff.”

WheyUP represents a breakthrough in the fitness drink market. It combines 20 grams of whey protein with an energy formula in a sugar-free, non-carbonated beverage. WheyUP is sold in ready-to-drink 16-ounce plastic bottles and 12 packs in two flavors: Wild Berry and Tropical Citrus. And coming in the third quarter of 2008 is the new Grape Punch flavor.

The fitness industry recommends consuming a minimum of 20g of whey protein prior to working out. Many individuals are also seeking a boost of energy – whether it’s coffee, an energy drink or caffeine pills – to intensify their workout. With WheyUP, getting energized and adding healthy protein to a diet has never been easier.

WheyUP is targeted toward health-conscience individuals and fitness enthusiasts. It is ideal for fat-loss programs, exercise programs, weight-training programs, athletic activities, and as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.

“With 20 grams of protein, zero fat and only 1 gram of carbs, WheyUP is the perfect drink for people on carb-conscience diets,” Rothchild said. “It's a great way to add protein to your diet and energy to your day.”
